「息子を見つけて墓を建ててやりたい」

ガザについての ロイターの記事だったか、「息子を見つけて墓を建ててやりたい」を思い出します。容赦のない破壊の中に立つ親の悲痛さが伝わってきました。

住む場所を奪われ移動を余儀なくされ さまよっている人々。この2年間の死者は6万5千人になったとも聞きます（ガザの人口は220万人）。武器をもった兵士の数ではなく一般市民の数で、飢えで亡くなった子供も含まれているようです。ニュースで流れる映像を見るのが辛いこのごろですが、ブログの1ページに残したいと思いました。

I recall reading in a Reuters article on Gaza the words of a parent: “I want to find my son and build him a grave.”

It conveys the unbearable grief of a parent standing amid relentless destruction.

People who have lost their homes are forced to move from place to place, wandering in uncertainty. I’ve heard that the death toll over the past two years has reached 65,000, in a population of 2.2 million. These are not the numbers of armed soldiers, but of ordinary civilians, including children who have died from hunger.

Lately, it has become painful to watch the news footage. Still, I felt I wanted to leave a record of it on a page of my blog.
